This passion for sport inspired them to start their first Gymnastics Club in 1999 in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. Due to unforeseen circumstances they eventually sold the club and Berné with a background in Construction went to work in the Congo for a couple of years while Ronel moved closer to family in Vanderbijlpark.

In 2016 Ronel started helping out at the local Gymnastics Club in Vanderbijlpark and at the end of 2019, when the previous owner decided to sell, they jumped at the opportunity to once again pursue their dream. Supported by their children (both coaches) and family (always somewhere in the background) they give a home away from home and teach children that with hard work, discipline and respect (for themselves and others) they can make their dreams come true.
